White gold ring inscribed inside: “George IVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX:F:D:IND 1…P Australia” Who? What? Please.?
White gold or platinum ring, weighs 4 grams. Inscribed inside are words and abbreviations above on one half of inside band. On other half of inside band inscribed is “Australia FLO [celtic cross] RIN [star]. I have gone to 3 New York City jewelers and just came back from seeing a jewelry expert at Doyle Auction House in Manhattan. No one can tell me anything about this ring. Does anyone have information that might help please?
A florin was a coin used in commonwealth countries. When coins were changed to the decimal system it became the 20 cent coin. Florins were silver at one time but never gold so I’ve no idea why this name would be on your ring unless the ring is silver rather than white gold, it would certainly fit in with the rest of the inscription.
Check this image out as it may be that your ring was made from a coin or based on one:

You’ll note that the florin part is surrounded by stars and has the cross from the crown in the middle of it which is what you described.
